University of Texas - Austin

Congratulations on your Fulbright ETA award!

The Fulbright Program is sponsored and managed by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) of the United States Department of State.  The Institute of International Education (IIE) administers the Fulbright U.S. Student Program, including the Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (ETA) Program.

The Sub-Saharan Africa and South & Central Asia Programs Branches at the U.S. Department of State organize this annual Pre-Departure Orientation (PDO) for ETAs going to the regions.  The PDO will provide information on teaching methodologies for overseas classrooms, classroom management and available resources.

We will be updating this website in the coming weeks and months with more details and additional information.  Please visit periodically for updates.

The staff of the Sub-Saharan Africa and South & Central Asia Programs Branches of the U.S. Department of State look forward to working with you as you embark on the adventure of increasing mutual understanding through educational and cultural exchange.

We look forward to seeing you in Texas in June.

If you have a conflict with the Fulbright PDO dates, please complete and submit the exemption request form no later than Monday, May 14.

* Please note that accomodations will be made on your behalf once you register.
