Foreign Students - EducationUSA Advising Centers

EducationUSA Advising and Information Centers advise prospecitve international students and other audiences on educational opportunities in the United States.  The U.S. Department of State supports over 400 centers worldwide, with locations in every region of the world. Advising centers offer information on U.S. colleges and universities, financial aid, standardized testing, application procedures and living in the United States.  

U.S. Student Program - Fulbright Program Advisers

Fulbright Program Advisers are faculty members or administrators at U.S. colleges and universities who advise Fulbright U.S. Student Program candidates on the application process, conduct on-campus panel interviews and provide general information and support.

U.S. Scholar Program - Fulbright Campus Representatives

Fulbright Campus Representatives are designated on college and university campuses throughout the United States, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico to assist faculty members with the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program application process.


Before You Go:


Orientation Programs


Fulbright Gateway Orientations, which focus on academic skills, graduate student life and cross-cultural awareness, are offered to foreign students upon arrival in the United States.

U.S. students and scholars going to select countries are invited to pre-departure orientations, often held in Washington, DC, before departing the United States.

Many
Fulbright Commissions and U.S. Embassies also host in-country orientations for U.S. Fulbrighters and/or pre-departure orientations for Fulbrighters to the U.S.

Language Preparation

Fulbright students from other countries travelling to the U.S. may apply to participate in pre-academic programs in order to increase English language proficiency, refine English language skills or prepare for study in a specific discipline such as law or health.

The Fulbright Critical Language Enhancement Award is available to students who have been awarded a Fulbright U.S. Student full grant and who intend to use one of the eligible languages in their Fulbright project.
