	Irene Ballagh (New Zealand) Columbia University – Neuroscience “As the daughter of a Fulbright alumnus, I enjoyed the benefits of the program’s ability to form closer ties between the USA and New Zealand from a very young age, but my time in New York City as a Fulbright grantee in my own right has been enriching beyond what even I could have imagined. Not only have I had the opportunity to study and pursue new research in neuroscience at Columbia University in the company of some of the most brilliant scientists and students to be found anywhere in the world, but I’ve been doing it in a city that also affords seemingly limitless opportunities for new experiences in arts, music and diverse types of people. I have formed lasting friendships with Americans, with fellow Fulbrighters, and even got to see a little bit of the country outside the Big Apple along the way. Writing it all out in this way, it seems rather hyperbolic, but those are actually the dry facts; it has truly been an amazing experience.”

	Olga Belova (Russia) “Being in the United States through Fulbright teacher assistantship program did not only give me the opportunity to see a new country and teach in a new academic setting but it also made me feel that life is fuller when you have all these people from all over the world around you, people with different social and personal experiences and backgrounds. The program made obvious a very simple truth for me: a person is happy when within such a diversity they find those who understand and share their values and ideals.”
	Hongfei Liang (China) “With the scholarship sponsored by the Fulbright FLTA program, it's my first time that I have left my home country and studied abroad.
