Denmark
Fulbright Program Opportunities in the U.S. for Danes One-year grants to the U.S. are available for Danish graduate students who are pursuing Master's and Ph.D. degrees or completing independent, non-degree research projects. Danish scholars can apply for the Fulbright Distinguished Chair in Danish/Scandinavian Studies. Fulbright Program Opportunities in Denmark for Americans Grants to Denmark are available for U.S. students and scholars in all fields of study. For the student program, preference is given to those with M.A. and Ph.D. degrees; however, seniors graduating with a Bachelor's degree are eligible and are encouraged to apply. While it is recommended that students have a basic knowledge of Danish language by the grant start date, knowledge of Danish is not required for student grantees unless necessary for successful completion of the project or study. Danish language proficiency is required for Kierkegaard studies and for projects within Danish studies. The Danish Scholar program consists of the Danish Distinguished Chair in Human Rights and International Studies, Danish Distinguished Chair in American Studies, and a short-term Business Community College Study grant, which is co-sponsored by a Danish organization, FUHU. In addition, up to six short-term (two to six weeks) Specialist grants are generally offered for U.S. faculty and professionals.
