Jordanian Scholars

The Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program in Jordan is administered by the Jordanian-American Commission for Educational Exchange (JACEE).

Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program
The Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program provides grants to lecture and/or conduct postdoctoral research at U.S. institutions for an academic semester to a full academic year.

For academic year 2007-2008, five Jordanian scholars were awarded Fulbright Visiting Scholar grants to the U.S.

Fulbright Visiting Specialists Program: Direct Access to the Muslim World
The Fulbright Visiting Specialists Program: Direct Access to the Muslim World awards short-term grants to scholars from the Middle East, South and Central Asia, and selected countries in East Asia, Africa, and Europe to help U.S. higher education institutions and communities enrich their understanding of Islamic civilization and culture and social, political, and economic developments in the Muslim world. Fulbright Visiting Specialists, who are matched with U.S. applicant institutions for a period of 3 to 6 weeks, lecture or teach short courses, assist with program and curriculum development, interact with students, and participate in public outreach programs with community groups, local school, and civic organizations.

For academic year 2007-2008, one Jordanian scholar was awarded a Fulbright Visiting Specialists Program: Direct Access to the Muslim World grant.

Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence (SIR) Program
The Fulbright SIR Program brings scholars and professionals from abroad to U.S. college and university campuses for a semester or an academic year, primarily to teach undergraduate courses. SIR grantees also assist in developing curricula and serve as a resource for faculty, students, and the community. Approximately 50 grants are awarded annually worldwide.
