2012 Fulbright Pre-Departure Orientation for U.S. Scholars and Students Going to the Middle East and North Africa

Please note that the general Pre-Departure Orientation for U.S. Scholars and Students ends Thursday, June 28th, at 12:30 p.m.  Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (ETA)-specific sessions will begin Thursday afternoon and go through Friday, June 29th (see details below).
 

Congratulations on your Fulbright award!

The Fulbright Program for U.S. Scholars and Students is sponsored and managed by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) of the United States Department of State.

The Institute of International Education (IIE) administers the Fulbright U.S. Student Program.

The Council for International Exchange of Scholars (CIES) administers the Fulbright Program for U.S. lecturers and senior researchers.

The Middle East & North Africa Programs Branch at the U.S. Department of State organizes this annual Pre-Departure Orientation (PDO) for U.S. Fulbright Scholars and Students going to the Middle East & North Africa.  Sessions will cover Fulbright program policies and guidelines, logistical preparations for a Fulbright grant, health care, security issues in the region, and other country-specific information.

This year, we will also be hosting an orientation specifically for Fulbright English Teaching Assistants (ETAs) to take place immediately following the general PDO.

If you have a conflict with the Fulbright PDO dates, please complete and submit the exemption request form no later than Monday, May 21.
