Nomsa Mazwai, a South African Fulbright student and professional musician, won a 2011 South African Music Award for Best Adult Alternative African Music for her newly released album, Nomisupasta

The South African Music Awards are given by the Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA) and are equivalent to the U.S. Grammys.

Nomsa is from Eastern Cape, South Africa, and is currently pursuing an M.A. in economics at Fordham University in New York City.
