Map of Cambodia

The Fulbright Program with Cambodia was reinstated in 1993 after a lapse of 20 years.

In order to respond to a shortage of trained personnel in Cambodia during its transitional period from a centrally planned economy to a free market economy, the Fulbright Program concentrates on providing graduate studies for Cambodian students in a range of fields and on upgrading the credentials of its university faculty members.

Opportunities in the U.S. for Cambodians

Grants to Cambodia for U.S. citizens are offered in the student and scholar categories. Grants are available for American students to carry out projects in Cambodia, either independent or Ph.D. dissertation research. Lecturer grants and Fulbright Specialist grants are available for U.S. faculty and professionals.
