Malaysia
The Malaysian-American Commission on Educational Exchange (MACEE) was established in 1963 by written agreement between the U.S. and Malaysian governments. The Commission is governed by a Board of Directors that consists of five American members appointed by the U.S. Ambassador and five Malaysian members appointed by the Malaysian Minister of Higher Education.
Grants are available for Malaysian students to pursue Master's degrees in the U.S. Post-doctoral research opportunities are available for a number of Malaysian scholars.

The Malaysian-American Commission on Educational Exchange (MACEE) emphasizes traditional Fulbright interest areas such as American studies, Malaysian studies, and economic development and has also added new areas including civic education/democracy, Islamic studies, global and intercultural communication, global stability and conflict, economic globalization, as well as educational issues pertaining to the role of the university in society and the future of higher education. The Commission seeks new and innovative proposals for lecturers, research seminars and workshops in these areas.

Students
Fulbright Foreign Student Program
The Fulbright Foreign Student Program enables graduate students, young professionals, and artists from abroad to research and study in the United States for one year or longer.
Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) Program
The Fulbright FLTA Program
, a component of the Fulbright Foreign Student Program, provides young teachers of English as a Foreign Language the opportunity to refine their teaching skills and broaden their knowledge of American cultures and customs while strengthening the instruction of foreign languages at colleges and universities in the United States. -
Scholars
Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program
The Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program provides grants to lecture and/or conduct postdoctoral research at U.S. institutions for an academic semester to a full academic year.
Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence (SIR) Program
The Fulbright SIR Program brings scholars and professionals from abroad to U.S. college and university campuses for a semester or an academic year, primarily to teach undergraduate courses. SIR grantees also assist in developing curricula and serve as a resource for faculty, students, and the community.

The Fulbright FLTA program
is a nine-month, non-degree program providing future teachers of English with the opportunity to refine their skills, increase their English language proficiency, and extend their knowledge of U.S. society and culture while strengthening foreign language instruction at U.S. colleges and universities, and some high schools.

Students
Fulbright U.S. Student Program
The Fulbright U.S. Student Program enables U.S. graduating college seniors, graduate students, young professionals, and artists to study abroad for one academic year.
Fulbright English Teaching Assistantships (ETA) Program
The Fulbright ETA Program, an element of the Fulbright U.S. Student Program, places U.S. students as English teaching assistants in schools or universities overseas, thus improving foreign students’ English language abilities and knowledge of the United States while increasing their own language skills and knowledge of the host country. ETAs may also pursue individual study/research plans in addition to their teaching responsibilities.
The Fulbright U.S. Student Program is administered by the Institute of International Education (IIE).

The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program sends American scholars and professionals abroad to lecture and/or conduct research in a wide variety of academic and professional fields.
Fulbright Specialist Program
The Fulbright Specialist Program
, a short-term complement to the traditional Fulbright Scholar Program, sends U.S. faculty and professionals to serve as expert consultants on curriculum, faculty development, institutional planning, and related subjects at overseas academic institutions for a period of 2 to 6 weeks.The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program is administered by the Council for International Exchange of Scholars (CIES).
