The Fulbright Program with the Philippines is the world's oldest continuous Fulbright program. The Philippine-American Educational Foundation (PAEF) was established on March 23, 1948.
Grants are available for Filipino students to pursue Master's or Ph.D. degrees in the U.S. Filipino teachers of English are eligible to teach Tagalog in the U.S and take classes at a U.S. university in the non-degree Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) Program.
Opportunities in the U.S. for Filipinos
Grants to the Philippines for U.S. citizens are offered in the student and scholar categories. Ten-month awards are available for students to carry out either independent or Ph.D. dissertation research. Lecturer/research grants and Fulbright Specialists grants are availble for U.S. faculty and professionals.

Fulbright Foreign Student Program
The Fulbright Foreign Student Program enables graduate students, young professionals, and artists from abroad to research and study in the United States for one year or longer.
Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) Program
The Fulbright FLTA Program
, a component of the Fulbright Foreign Student Program, provides young teachers of English as a Foreign Language the opportunity to refine their teaching skills and broaden their knowledge of American cultures and customs while strengthening the instruction of foreign languages at colleges and universities in the United States. -
Scholars
Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program
The Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program provides grants to lecture and/or conduct postdoctoral research at U.S. institutions for an academic semester to a full academic year.
Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence (SIR) Program
The Fulbright SIR Program brings scholars and professionals from abroad to U.S. college and university campuses for a semester or an academic year, primarily to teach undergraduate courses. SIR grantees also assist in developing curricula and serve as a resource for faculty, students, and the community.

Fulbright Specialist Program
The Fulbright Specialist Program
, a short-term complement to the traditional Fulbright Scholar Program, sends U.S. faculty and professionals to serve as expert consultants on curriculum, faculty development, institutional planning, and related subjects at overseas academic institutions for a period of 2 to 6 weeks.The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program is administered by the Council for International Exchange of Scholars (CIES).
