Map of Israel

Israel’s participation in the Fulbright Program began in 1956 with the establishment of the Fulbright commission for Israel, the United States-Israel Educational Foundation (USIEF), by the Governments of the United States and Israel. Since then, over 1,100 U.S. citizens and over 1,400 Israelis have taken part in Fulbright exchanges.

In addition to a full array of traditional Fulbright Programs for students and young researchers, the Foundation administers a series of its own innovative partnership grant programs, among them the Fulbright-Syracuse University-Civil Service Commission Executive Master of Public Administration Program for civil servants and the Fulbright-John Jay College-Israel Police Master of Arts in Criminal Justice Program for officers of the Israel Police.

The Foundation offers Distinguished Chair, Scholar, Post-Doctoral Researcher and Post-Graduate Student Fellowships for Americans. The Foundation also encourages Israeli institutions to host U.S. guests through the Specialist Program.
