Grants are available for Jordanian students to pursue Master degrees in the U.S. Post-doctoral research opportunities are offered to Jordanian scholars. The King Hussein Memorial Fulbright Scholarship Program offers highly qualified Jordanian students or scholars yearly to pursue advanced study in fields relevant to international conflict resolution and mediation studies, international affairs, government and politics, civic education, public administration, environmental protection and conservation and water resource management. Additionally, the U.S. recognizes Arabic as a critical foreign language and invites students and young teachers to teach their native language at American universities through the Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) Program.
Fulbright Program Opportunities in the U.S. for Jordanians
Grants to Jordan for U.S. citizens are offered in the student and scholar categories. Awards for American students (pre-doctoral) offer nine-month grants to graduating seniors or Masters and Ph.D. degree seeking candidates to study and conduct research in Jordan. English Teaching Assistantships are also available to U.S. students and recent graduates. American scholar (post-doctoral) awards offer scholars and professionals opportunites to lecture or conduct post doctoral research (or a combination of both) at Jordanian institutions for a grant period between 4-10 months. Additionally, Specialist grants are also available to U.S. scholars.

Fulbright Foreign Student Program
The Fulbright Foreign Student Program enables graduate students, young professionals, and artists from abroad to research and study in the United States for one year or longer.
Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) Program
The Fulbright FLTA Program, a component of the Fulbright Foreign Student Program, provides young teachers of English as a Foreign Language the opportunity to refine their teaching skills and broaden their knowledge of American cultures and customs while strengthening the instruction of foreign languages at colleges and universities in the United States.

Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program
The Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program provides grants to lecture and/or conduct postdoctoral research at U.S. institutions for an academic semester to a full academic year.
Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence (SIR) Program
The Fulbright SIR Program brings scholars and professionals from abroad to U.S. college and university campuses for a semester or an academic year, primarily to teach undergraduate courses. SIR grantees also assist in developing curricula and serve as a resource for faculty, students, and the community.

Students
Fulbright U.S. Student Program
The Fulbright U.S. Student Program offers fellowships for U.S. graduating college seniors, graduate students, young professionals, and artists to study abroad for one academic year.
Fulbright English Teaching Assistantships (ETA) Program
The Fulbright ETA Program, an element of the Fulbright U.S. Student Program, places U.S. students as English teaching assistants in schools or universities overseas, thus improving foreign students’ English language abilities and knowledge of the United States while increasing their own language skills and knowledge of the host country. ETAs may also pursue individual study/research plans in addition to their teaching responsibilities.
In addition, Critical Language Enhancement Awards are available to grantees for study of Arabic before their grant period.
The Fulbright U.S. Student Program is administered by the Institute of International Education (IIE).

Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program
The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program sends American scholars and professionals abroad to lecture and/or conduct research in a wide variety of academic and professional fields.
Fulbright Specialist Program
The Fulbright Specialist Program, a short-term complement to the traditional Fulbright Scholar Program, sends U.S. faculty and professionals to serve as expert consultants on curriculum, faculty development, institutional planning, and related subjects at overseas academic institutions for a period of 2 to 6 weeks.
The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program is administered by the Council for International Exchange of Scholars (CIES).
