Bhutan
The Fulbright Bhutanese Program began in 1967. Currently the Fulbright Program provides one U.S. Fulbright grant every other year to a Bhutanese student to obtain an undergraduate degree at an institution of higher education in the United States and one U.S. Fulbright scholar grant every academic year. Bhutanese participants of the Fulbright Program often assume important government positions upon their return to Bhutan.
