The Fulbright Program provides opportunities for Eastern Caribbean graduate students to pursue advanced studies in the U.S. Short-term visiting researcher and lecturer opportunities to the U.S. are available for Eastern Caribbean scholars.  In addition, U.S. institutions may request an Eastern Caribbean Scholar-in-Residence (SIR).

Fulbright Program Opportunities in the U.S. for Citizens of Barbados, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines

U.S. students and scholars can apply for a Fulbright grant to Barbados or any of the six Eastern Caribbean countries accredited to the U.S. Embassy in Bridgetown; Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, St. Kitts and Nevits, St. Lucia, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

    • The Fulbright Program in Barbados, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines is administered by the Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy in Bridgetown, Barbados.

    • Students

      Fulbright Foreign Student Program

      The Fulbright Foreign Student Program enables graduate students, young professionals, and artists from abroad to research and study in the United States for one year or longer.

       

    • Scholars

      Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program

      The Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program provides grants to conduct short-term research (approximately 3 months) at U.S. institutions for an academic semester to a full academic year.

      Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence (SIR) Program

      The Fulbright SIR Program brings scholars and professionals from abroad to U.S. college and university campuses for a semester or an academic year, primarily to teach undergraduate courses. SIR grantees also assist in developing curricula and serve as a resource for faculty, students, and the community.

      Fulbright U.S. Student Program

      The Fulbright U.S. Student Program offers fellowships for U.S. graduating college seniors, graduate students, young professionals, and artists to study abroad for one academic year.

      The Fulbright U.S. Student Program is administered by the Institute of International Education (IIE).

    • Scholars

      Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program

      The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program sends American scholars and professionals abroad to lecture and/or conduct research in a wide variety of academic and professional fields.

      Fulbright Specialist Program

      The Fulbright Specialist Program, a short-term complement to the traditional Fulbright Scholar Program, sends U.S. faculty and professionals to serve as expert consultants on curriculum, faculty development, institutional planning, and related subjects at overseas academic institutions for a period of 2 to 6 weeks.

      The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program is administered by the Council for International Exchange of Scholars (CIES).
