Mexico
Grants are available for Mexican students to pursue Master's and Ph.D. degrees in the U.S. and for one-year non-degree study at a U.S. university for students who will return to complete a Ph.D. in a Mexican university. Mexician faculty members may participate in the Fulbright Faculty Development Program, which offers advanced degrees for a limited number of faculty members in Mexican universities. Students and teachers of English are eligible for the Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) Program. Post-doctoral research opportunities are offered to Mexican scholars. The Fulbright Border Program enables Mexican scholars teaching in institutions along the U.S. border to spend part of each week teaching or conducting research in a U.S. institution across the border. Grants are available to Mexican teachers and school administrators for semester or academic-year exchanges in U.S. schools.
Fulbright Program Opportunities for Mexicans
Grants to Mexico for U.S. citizens are offered in the student, scholar and teacher categories. Full-year awards are available for students to carry out either independent or Ph.D. dissertation research, and grants are available for degree study in Mexico. Awards are available in the Binational Business Category, which offers a year’s internship in a Mexican company coupled with study towards a certificate in business. Lecturer/research awards and Fulbright Specialist awards are available for U.S. faculty and professionals with support provided by Mexican host institutions. The Fulbright Border Program enables U.S. scholars teaching in institutions along the Mexican border to spend part of each week teaching or conducting research in a Mexican institution across the border. The Fulbright-Carlos Rico Award for North American Studies offers U.S. Scholars the opportunity to spend one semester in Mexico and one semester in Canada studying topics of interest to both countries.

Fulbright Foreign Student Program
The Fulbright Foreign Student Program enables graduate students, young professionals, and artists from abroad to research and study in the United States for one year or longer.
Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant Program (FLTA)
The Fulbright FLTA program is a nine-month, non-degree program providing future teachers of English with the opportunity to refine their skills, increase their English language proficiency, and extend their knowledge of U.S. society and culture while strengthening foreign language instruction at U.S. colleges and universities, and some high schools.

Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program
The Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program provides grants to lecture and/or conduct postdoctoral research at U.S. institutions for an academic semester to a full academic year.
Fulbright Border Program
This program offers grants for Mexican scholars at higher education institutions located in the Mexican states along the northern border to teach courses and/or conduct a research project in a U.S. institution along the border. The Mexican scholar will maintain residence in Mexico and commute two or three days a week to complete the proposed activities in the U.S.
Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence (SIR) Program
The Fulbright SIR Program brings scholars and professionals from abroad to U.S. college and university campuses for a semester or an academic year, primarily to teach undergraduate courses. SIR grantees also assist in developing curricula and serve as a resource for faculty, students, and the community.

Fulbright Classroom Teacher Exchange Program
The Fulbright Classroom Teacher Exchange Program provides opportunities for teachers to participate in direct exchanges of positions with colleagues from other countries for a semester or a year. By living and working abroad, exchange teachers gain an understanding and appreciation of different educational systems and cultures, and enrich their schools and communities by providing students with new perspectives about the world in which they live.
Distinguished Fulbright Awards in Teaching Program
The Distinguished Fulbright Awards in Teaching Program is designed to recognize and encourage excellence in teaching in the U.S. and abroad. Highly talented U.S. and international teachers are selected to receive a grant to study at a university, conduct research, teach classes and workshops, and develop a project pertaining to their field of educational inquiry during their semester overseas.

Fulbright U.S. Student Program
The Fulbright U.S. Student Program offers fellowships for U.S. graduating college seniors, graduate students, young professionals, and artists to study abroad for one academic year.
Fulbright English Teaching Assistantships (ETA) Program
The Fulbright ETA Program, an element of the Fulbright U.S. Student Program, places U.S. students as English teaching assistants in schools or universities overseas, thus improving foreign students’ English language abilities and knowledge of the United States while increasing their own language skills and knowledge of the host country. ETAs may also pursue individual study/research plans in addition to their teaching responsibilities.
The Fulbright U.S. Student Program is administered by the Institute of International Education (IIE).

Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program
The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program sends American scholars and professionals abroad to lecture and/or conduct research in a wide variety of academic and professional fields.
Fulbright Specialist Program
The Fulbright Specialist Program, a short-term complement to the traditional Fulbright Scholar Program, sends U.S. faculty and professionals to serve as expert consultants on curriculum, faculty development, institutional planning, and related subjects at overseas academic institutions for a period of 2 to 6 weeks.
Fulbright Border Program
The goal of the Border Program is to enhance linkages and collaborative work between U.S. and Mexican academic institutions and scholars in the border regions. Grantees live at home and commute to Mexico a minimum of one to two times per month to engage in research, teaching, or both.
Fulbright-Carlos Rico Award for North American Studies
The Fulbright-Carlos Rico Award for North American Studies offers U.S. Scholars the opportunity to spend one semester in Mexico and one semester in Canada studying topics of interest to both countries.
